Bay Area Organizing Team
Hi! We are so excited to continue’s Bernie’s work in starting Freedom School. This school is a far cry from white tower academia — it’s a warm, healing community meant to serve womxn of color. A little about us:
Aminta is a Black, multicultural, Oakland native dedicated to racial justice and healing her community through collective action. She occasionally hosts pumpkin smashing sessions meant to creatively compost veggies with our rage and healing. We’ll doing this at Freedom school!
Camila is a chicana from San Diego, CA. She hopes to contribute to powerful, meaningful change for our communities through dialogue, policy change, centering our ancestral wisdom, and dancing!
Marycon immigrated from the Philippines and was raised in the Bay Area. The friendships she’s made through the experiences and spirit of freedom school has grounded her throughout her medical journey; she therefore hopes to continue lifting up her communities - especially her immigrant, Filipinx-American, and marginalized communities - through compassionate conversations and activism.
